I have been looking at getting a NAS device however, I am on a budget. While hunting around Ebay I cam across a few USB2 to NAS Dongles which say they can convert any standard external hard drive into a NAS.
I just wondered if anyone out there has used one of these devices and if they are any good?
Sorry if this is in the wrong section of the site.... seemed the most obvious!

All advice greatly recieved.
I haven't used but I was curios about it, where do you want to use it? or how?
Well I was just going to plug on of my external drives into the network. My home only contains laptops (no desktop machines) and I want to have a central backup location.
I was looking for a cheap end NAS drive or a networked drive (any suggestions on models greatly received, must work with windows and linux) and came across a few ads for these dongles which is why I thought I would ask and see if anyone had used them.
