ADSL problem on FC5

Hi all, I can't have the adsl work correctly on FC5.
the eth0 is detected and configed correctly as :
IP: 192.168.1.64
Mask:255.255.255.0
Gateway: no
And I can ping 192.168.1.1 quickly.
Then I set the adsl using both UI and command "adsl-setup", the IP is also fixed to 192.168.1.64, and the DNS is set without any problem.
BUT, when I try activate the ppp0, the message show " cannot activate the ppp0 device".
Using adsl-connect I get "PAP authentication failed".
But the id and pwd is all correct.
I have no method now and can't find a feasible instruction on web. Please Help Me, Thank you very much!!!
(sorry for poor english)

do you have a router or are you just connecting through a modem? try 'pppoe-config' or 'pppoe-setup' as root, i forget the exact name sorry
