Adding REHL 3 server to existing domain

I'm a new linux user. I used to avoid it like the plague, but now I need to setup an e-mail server.

How can I add my Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 server to my companies existing domain?
I was able to do it using the GUI, but I reloaded it with txt only and cannot figure it out.
