accessing computer from internet


hi,
how can i access my computer from internet. and login as normal user
and work as i am logined as local user. i am using ubuntu.

Another suggestion:

Forward port 22 on your router (assuming this is what you use) to the internal ip address of the computer that will be the server and look up installing and using "ssh".

I would suggest adding the following lines to /etc/ssh/sshd_config:
Code:
Protocol 2

#Allowed users
AllowUsers username
DenyUsers admin Admin test root

Maybe add:
denyhosts
for added peace of mind (& less a interesting /var/log/auth.log file - although it was fun at first seeing all the different countries from where login attempts came)

Once you have this working, look at vncserver tunneled with ssh to access the GUI.
