Here's my problem, I can ping both ip's and domains (any server I please), but none of my browsers will load the pages. They all time out while trying to connect to server.
I dual boot the machine with windows, when I reboot into windows I can surf just fine, so it apparently is not a nic or router issue.
Just prior to me noticing this issue, I was installing noip, so that I can keep my laptop and desktop in touch at all times. I unpacked noip, ran make and make install, and then enabled port forwarding on the router for port 22. Thats it. I have subsequently disabled the port forwarding and restarted the router many times to no avail.
You're iptables might have gotten wiped and set to deny all... especially since the program you were installing might have to modify them.
Run the following in term 'sudo iptables -L --line-numbers > $HOME/iptables-bad.txt' and post the iptables-bad.txt that it will generate in your home folder, of course thats only IF what the other people suggested does not fix it.
also this may not even be possible but i know internet explorer had problems sometimes if 2 network interfaces were plugged in... might have nothing to do with you though as I am unaware of your circumstances.
