Hi, I have a Motorola Moto C phone and I use VLC to play mp3s (2 hour radio programmes). Typically I stream to my car stereo from the phone via bluetooth.
A frustrating feature is that VLC does not always resume playback at the same point after a long pause. EG. I get to work and I pause VLC at 30 minutes. When I leave work VLC is still paused at the 30 minutes mark but when I hit play it falls back to earlier in the file (while still reading 30 minutes).
I'd report it via the app as a bug. They may know about it, or at least they'll know once you tell them. Give them good details. If the app gets swapped out of memory, I don't see how it will hold it's position.

how much earlier?
I hear this all the time on Android, but possibly also on my linux desktop.
I think some audio files are not indexed very well, or they have something like keyframes.
ondonho: I did think it was hitting some kind of previous checkpoint. There is no real consistency. It is though more than 10s - several minutes. Maybe I am being too optimistic hoping to hold the position for several hours on a low budget mobile. Workaround for the moment is to exit the app every night and remember where I was. Hopefully this makes daytime activity clearer
I found a way to do this..but I do not know it would be useful for you..Just quite VLC without pausing the audio you are listening to. Next time, go to history first when you relaunch the app and Then, select the where you stopped.Try it
