VLC error: VLC could not open the file "/usr/share/vlc/skins2/text.bmp".

When I have tried to change the skin from the control panel, next time I tried to open vlc it shows me the message: VLC could not open the file "/usr/share/vlc/skins2/text.bmp".

I completely uninstalled VLC and dependencies with synaptic and rebooted several times. The reinstallation always has the same problem. I even deleted the VLC folder in usr/share as root and I still get the same error.

Any ideas on how to fix this ?

B.

Solved.

The fix is
*** Cool, run:
"vlc --reset"

and all is well.
