No network after installing Z4Root

Hi guys

I'm hoping someone can help me out of predicament of my own making

I have A1CS X220 tablet running Android 2.2 and wanted to update to the latest Android version, I was told on another site to install Z4Root in preparation for the upgrade, however since installing Z4Root I Can't connect to my WIFI, when I turn on wifi it sees the network and attempts to connect then gets as far as "obtaining network ip address from <my network>" then " Scanning" then disconnects leaving a padalock symbol beside the wireless icon, it looks to me like it doesn't like the network key but I've checked the key and re-inputed it several times,I've also tried different router channels, I've even tried it on a different network and it still wont work, I've un-installed Z4Root(which didn't work anyway) and reset back to factory defaults.

I'm really getting quite frustrated with this because I just don't know what else to try and it worked fine untill I installed Z4Root

Any help or advice anyone can give me would be much appreciated

Many thanks

Graeme

Oh, and here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831178

And be careful (i.e. outright avoid) those "one-click" rooting tools. I should know.

I don't understand why android can't give people the right to have root privileges by using a master password we setup. Sure, they probably think we'll mess something up but that is our discretion and our responsibility.

We should have root to our phones without using risky apps to do it.
