List of Android apps I recommend


List of Android apps I recommend

(at the end of document, the list with URL/links added, towards the specified application store)

[*] maps.me (playstore), organicmaps (playstore, fdroid) : offline navigation/maps, uses OSM, instead of google.
[*] aurora-store (fdroid): alternative app/client of playstore
[*] fdroid (via fdroid.org) : alternative application store to the playstore, containing various opensource apps, mainly non-playstore-available apps.
[*] cachecleaner (fdroid) : permits to wipe/remove/erase cache of all android's apps in one time (not data, only cache) via automatism ; takes 10 to 15 mins, for hundred apps.
[*] carnet (playstore, fdroid): notepad app with two nice features : PIN access code lock, backup/sync via webdav/nextcloud
[*] conversations/quicksy (playstore, fdroid) : secured messenging app (xmpp client) for android, uncentralized, federated. Conversations requires a/several account (like for email client), instead of quicksy, using only and directly user's phone number) ; both made by same dev.
[*] davx (playstore, fdroid): add caldav calendars to android
[*] elements (playstore, fdroid): matrix secured messenging client
[*] fairemail (playstore, fdroid) : free email client (via fdroid)
[*] feeder (playstore, fdroid): reader/agregator of RSS feeds, to unify all incoming news from various medias, to a single place
[*] fennec (fdroid) : firefox's fork, available on fdroid
[*] simple file manager pro (fdroid) : file explorer
[*] foldersync (playstore) : allow to do synchronization to/from different cloud/storage places
[*] simple gallery pro (fdroid): photos/pictures gallery viewer
[*] gpstest (playstore): allow to check the compatibility of the device with different GNSS (global navigation satellite system), eg galileo (european's one) or others : GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, SBAS, BEIDOU and QZSS
[*] k9mail (playstore, fdroid): email client
[*] koreader, mupdfviewer, liberiafd, bookreader (few on playstore, all:fdroid): pdf reader, epub viewers..
[*] libretube, skytube, newpipe (meilleur), pipepipe (tous:fdroid): alternative youtube's clients, to avoid advertising/advertisement.
[*] linphone (playstore,fdroid): sip client, permits to communicate for free/unlimited through the internet, with others sip users : messages, video, audio. french initiative.
[*] lower brightness (playstore) : customize/low brightness, beyond android's system limits
[*] muzei (playstore, addons via fdroid): alternative to the wallpapers google's app ; a new wallpaper per day, regarding wallpaper's
source (fdroid) : national geographic, etc)
[*] nextcloud (playstore, fdroid): sync client app for nextcoud usage & server
[*] notally (fdroid): alternative notepad app
[*] opentracks (fdroid): GPS tracker focused on privacy (bike, etc..)
[*] pilldroid (fdroid): identifie medicine/pills products, regarding barcode (only for FR-listed medicine registred products)
[*] qksms (playstore,fdroid): alternative SMS management app, allows backups.
[*] redmoon (fdroid): creates a red/orange screen filter, to diminue impact of blue light.
[*] stellarium (playstore) : opensource planetarium, beloved by space amateurs. Free and premium versions
[*] VLC : multimedia player (playstore, fdroid)
[*] Yet Another Call Blocker (fdroid): allow to block unsollicited incoming calls, either using a community list/source (signaled from internet users), or by single, or several/range of phone numbers blocking system

All fdroid application are generally free and opensource, no payment will be asked (normally) ; a warning is shown on every app requiring some specific/sensitive data (geolocation, phone number..)

Why hasn't the OP mentioned not only xterm or kitty. As I make incredible use of both of the aforementioned terminal emulators.
