The above link(Download)require a command line install using the terminal-HPLIP is best installed via Synaptic Package Manager. Administration-Synaptic Package Manager,Search for HPLIP-Mark for Install- Install.

I Also Experienced the Same Problem with You, I just downloaded drivers for the HP Officejet 4500 on the official website of Hp. But I don't know the correct installation method.
