Sorry no one replied

Wild guess:
mv ~/.local/share/keyrings ~/.local/share/keyrings.backup
&reboot

https://itsfoss.com/ubuntu-keyring/

I see you visited this morning; sorry no one replied. (I think I once ran into something like this, years ago, and instead of spending a few hours learning through web research, I reinstalled!)

https://softhints.com/linux-mint-disable-login-keyring/

I think one of the reasons no one replied was that they couldn't quite understand what you meant.

Exactly what password? Exactly what is saying what? But it's probably obvious to someone who understands this!

I find that by digging through web results, I clarify my question. If I want something more conversational than web links, I now use: chat.openai.com aka chatGPT

P. S. (binging on my search addiction, LOL)
If I use the LQ search, put in the two keywords: gnome keyring, select titles only and results as threads (instead of anywhere & posts), I find 40 threads about this. There's a few listed at the very bottom of every page!

& an LQsearch for: Texas biker finds https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...okytnji-396422

Looks like a reinstall will be the best option. As many of the program options that require admin authorization are non-functional, terminal etc. have the ISO on CD, image and the install (original) on thumb-drive. Will be looking for install options that were on previous versions.
