That's really color full desktop. I have not used gimp yet but eager to learn.
It took me about 1 year to get to know the program. However to really do cool art it took about 2 years.
You will be amazed at the results and effects if you take the time.
I encourage you to learn GIMP
Actually that looks just like KDE running on linux.
I think it looks nothing like kde kde doesn't have a dock or a panel at the top, by default. it looks like mate or gnome2 to me with those three titles in the top left corner.

I think this one is very nice. Good job. i've only just started to begin to get to know Gimp, because i couldn't stand the tri-window user interface.
