X11 wont run on my laptop radeon x1200 toshiba a210

hey there
ive been having this problem for about 6 hours now i keep getting the error message when ever i run startx that there was no screens found

my distro is gentoo 2008.0 it installed fine i had some trouble with my network card but i was able to solve that still no wireless anyone else try installing gentoo on a a210 with these problems ? any advice appreicated thanks

Hi,

I had issues when installing Ubuntu onto my parents toshiba laptop with the same graphics card. I had to use the driver from ATI.

That driver should work for you as well. I you are able to get Compiz to work - please post that!
