Wireless configuration


hi,

If try to go to the configuration of wireless Intel Pro 801.11b. It says it needs it needs the ipw-firmware. Where do i get and install that?

Suse 9.2 with all the updates
Dell Inspirion 8600

The easyest method is to use YAST.
Go to install & remowe software, search for firmware.
Install the package.... Voila.

no sadly the intel firmware isn't there. Because of license and stuff.

What card do you have? ipw2100 or ipw2200?

hehe true. I found that site. BTW I have 2100.

The problem is I was tempted to have the newest driver. SO I did all the stuff what they say. After 4 hours of trying the Kernel compiling failed. hehe
Ok at least the external binding worked first. I could load the driver. But didn't know how to configure the WPA key and stuff. So I switched back to WIndows, went to Internet to figure it out. Then after rebooting back, the driver isn't there anymore. I can't load it anymore. Its so sad.

Right now I am stuck again... (
