video0 and video1

Newbie (first posting) -- Just put Kubuntu 12.10 on my laptop. Integral webcam gets assigned to /dev/video0, external webcam to /dev/video1. If I run Skype, it allows me to choose either webcam, so I know both are working. However, using a chat window from Firefox always chooses video0, as does cheese. So, the question is: How do I make video0 point to video1 or disable the integral webcam?

There's nothing in the bios about disabling the integral webcam.

Thank you for your consideration.

Read over this: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Device_Filenames_and_udev

You can use the udev function to rewrite your hardware to whatever you want it to display as. If you have specific questions of implementing udev after reading over the link let me know.

NOTE: The link provided is a wiki site for an application, however, this is the exact same thing you are trying to accomplish and none of the info is directly related to the mythtv application.
