Do you have any suggestions of a boot loader?

I have warned you about that.

You can use the SuperGrubDisk to boot your installed OS. But I doubt that you can use it to run the XP-installer from the flash-drive.
But you should be able to use Grub4DOS to boot directly from the .iso-file, as I mentioned before.

GRUB makes a copy of your MBR during its install. Look for it in /boot or /boot/grub. It should contain your Windows MBR if you installed GRUB only once. Put it back with dd if you want to.

<edit> Uuuups. A two pages thread. After posting I realized that you solved it already (how?) </edit>

well i took a flash drive and opened cmd. used diskpart created a new partition cleared set it as active. Then I gave it a drive letter then used another command to copy the windows 7 files to the flash drive(i had the windows 7 iso mounted). then when that was completed grub picked it up/or recognized it and booted it then i used the cmd in the repair menu and put recovery....exe /fixmbr of course and it succeded.

It would be better for your school, and maybe for your grades, if you had shown them how you did that, instead of cheating.
