Unable to log in after hibernation

Hi,

When I start the computer up after having it shut down by hibernation, I am unable to log in anymore. The default kdm login screen shows up, when I enter the password the screen glitches for a second and then returns to the login screen.

Excerpt from /var/log/messages
Code:
dbus[614]: [system] Activating service name='org.kde.powerdevil.backlighthelper' (using servicehelper)

If it's due to some kind of X-related failure there should be more logging in /var/log/Xorg*, elif it's due to some kind of DM failure there should be more logging in /var/log/*dm*/* or equivalent, elif it's due to some authentication failure there should be more logging in /var/log/secure or equivalent, else 'dmesg' may hold nfo. If nothing works maybe check if you get better results with a different type of "sleep"?
