UEFI and Centos7 and install

Centos 7 installation .
Want to install only centos 7 .

Wish to wipe existing inaccessible window 8 partition and replace with centos7.to make computer fully centos .
Computer is UEFI needing windows recovery to no avail i.e not interested in recovering but to make a centos computer instead..
Does not go past recovery page which indicates the error 0xc0000001.
Needs recovery disc .

Need explicit step by step to achieving full centos 7 package insta from a usb and removing windiws completely.
Can access the Bios UEFI as on of the options. Need setting instructions

All other start up options not working.i.e cannot access command prompt or. Safe modes etc .Thus need
How to set this so that when turned on system can boot the cebtos code in the usb and install permanently to computer .
.

Thanks

Datcom001,

Welcome to LQ.

Have a look here for assistance:

You may well not need to set a temporary Supervisor Password, which I have only had to use with Acer.

Go into bios uefi and turn off secure boot, put on legacy mode. Then boot to your .iso and install. Done. Pretty easy.

You may not need to turn off any features.

See the Centos web help pages for how to instructions.

Centos 7 is supposed to simply boot and install on uefi systems.

I didn't want to say that uefi is not much of a standardized implantation. However bios wasn't very standard either so ymmv.

You do know that you can install a linux distro unhide recovery partition & do update-grub to boot recovery & restore to factory?

The last time I installed CentOS 7 I told the Partition Manager during the installation to take over the entire HDD.
You should have the same option.

It's as easy as erik2282 has already mentioned.
