ubuntu hardware support


got a ubuntu cd for a gateway nv52 series laptop i cant seem to find any way to use my wifi i looked under networking and it doesnt seem to be finding any active networks. frankly i dont like ubuntu as far as redhat mandrivia and suse what would one recomend? das37@hushmail.com

I'd recommend openSUSE because *I* like it. The best thing you can do, is to download and try them all. And don't load RedHat Enterprise, unless you pay for it. Get Fedora Core 11, or the latest CentOS...both RedHat based, but community-supported.

Please use punctuations and capitalize the first letter of a sentence. Your post is difficult to read.

Further I advise to remove your email address from the post unless you want it to be found by spambots. And it's not very likely that people here will contact you directly through email.

With regards to your Ubuntu problem, which version of Ubuntu is it? Did you run live or did you install. This thread on ubuntuforums is what I found that seemed to work for 8.10.

And to answer you're real question: try some and stick to what works for you.
