Ubuntu 12.0.4 LTS Windows Installer - No Display after Installation on HP Laptop

Hello Guys,

I am newbie in Linux. I recently installed Ubuntu 12.0.4 on my HP laptop through Ubuntu windows Installer. It got downloaded and installed without any problem.

When I switch boot from Windows 7 (64-bit) to Ubuntu at time of booting, i never reach to desktop or login screen. It seems that Ubuntu boots but is unable to display screen on my laptop.

Will anyone help me resolve this issue?

Laptop configuration
========================
HP Pavilion g4 (64-Bit)
4GB RAM
500 GB HDD
Intel i5 Core Processor
Ubuntu 12.0.4 Windows Installer through Internet

Regards,
Saurabh

Darn wubi installs. Either fix grub or use windows to uninstall that and then use the normal dual boot or virtual machine install is the solutions.

However it is not sure that it is grub, it could be a video issue. Try switching consoles after you feel it has booted or try to stop or see grub boot or change boot to some failsafe option.

Dear Jefro,

Thanks for the reply but problem is something else.

Whenever I boot with Ubuntu, it resets screen resolution to 0 at login page. Each time I need to increase brightness from 0 to visible level. I am not sure why Ubuntu is doing or from which config file it is controlled.

So far, increasing brightness level resolves my problem.

Thank you very much for taking interest in my post.

Regards,
Saurabh
