splashtop laptop maybe ASUS


hey friends

i just heard about ASUS and splashtop

do u recommend using it

ofcourse opensource on motherboard is good

but will i be able to do my BIOS updates via splashtop

lastly will i be able to run linux flavours through my hard disk especially ubuntu

waiting for ur special technical comments

<i dont like windows>

so i dont want to buy splashtop if it is not showing compatibility with linux

Splashtop, as I understand it, is simply a minimal Linux-based OS that lets you boot into a browser to do basic web tasks without needing to start up a whole OS.

You couldn't practically use it as a replacement for a full desktop operating system, and would be much better off just installing a Linux distribution. On the plus side, if the motherboard and integrated hardware works with Splashtop, then it stands to reason it would work in any other Linux distribution.

in my present laptop--i have this--->
ok after doing lot of reading i have finally arrived at the conclusion that i need a BIOS update...can someone please help me in this matter

i have no windows

i have ubuntu karmic

i have amd64

i have phoenix bios

quanta motherboard

f.04 is my bios version

i deleted mine on my lenovo felt like a javagame and dont now about what you need but i think maybe moblin can appeal to anybody wanting splashtop.

i have hp pavillion dv6500au

with no windows on it

how do i update the BIOS?
