sound not working in browser
Hi chaps, I have a problem with sound on my dell xps 17. Basically if I play music it is all fine, but when I say watch something on the internet, say videos on youtube or the radio using either firefox or chrome the sounds keeps breaking up, and I can't understand why. Is it a plug in problem, does anybody have any idea at all as to what causes this and what it is?
thanks

What audio plugin(s) do you have installed?
I do not run chrome, no comment there.
With FF ver 14.0.1, I have Mozplugger 1.14.3 installed, and VLC 1.1.9 installed, and all has been well for several versions of FF.

You need a audio plugin. VLC plugin is in addition to VLC media player.
