Sotec 820P modem suggestion

Has anyone tried out Linux (any distro but I'm fond of RH) on a Sotec 820P - its a laptop available at most Walmarts? I put RH9 on mine and it runs great- no problems with the install. I need to find a good modem though. Any comments would be much appreciated. Thanks, Zadox
