Small screen on Nec Versa SX with Ubuntu

I just installed Ubuntu on my Nec Versa SX and the screen is small by about 2 inches all around.

I'm very new to linux and still don't understand the majority of things (commands still confuse the hell out of me, but I'll read about those later.) So for any instructions on how to fix it, I'd apperciate it if you went thorough all the steps, thanks.

I had this problem on a Toshiba laptop. The problem wasn't just limited to X. The screen was too small all the time, even during boot-up or in console mode. In that case, there was a bios option that I had to enable. Something along the lines of "fill screen" -- I can't remember exactly what it was named and it would probably have a different name on your computer anyhow.

Your computer should give a message at boot-up about how to change bios settings. Something along the lines of "Press 'some key' to enter setup".

Just a stab in the dark.

Regards,
Jacob

Thanks, I went in and changed something similar but only got the loading screen bigger, but at the same resolution so it looks like crap.

I'll go in and try changing the xorf.conf later.
