Sorry, no chips were detected.
Either your sensors are not supported, or they are
connected to an I2C bus adapter that we do not support.
See doc/FAQ, doc/lm_sensors-FAQ.html, or
http://www2.lm-sensors.nu/~lm78/cvs/...nsors-FAQ.html
(FAQ #4.24.3) for further information.
If you find out what chips are on your board, see
http://secure.netroedge.com/~lm78/newdrivers.html for driver status.
the weird thing is i already ran it before, and it detected a chip, i added the module to /etc/modules, but typing sensors still said that no sensors exist...

so i rebooted, did sensors, same thing... tried to run sensors-detect again... and this is what happens...

I am a little worried about the temps that my laptop is reaching (it is hot to the touch...) so i need sensors... please help...

thanks...

(by the way, i am on the process of reading the links above... hopefully they will have some answers... still i am covering my bases by posting here)

Many laptops do not have any sensors to speak of but your CPU temperature is normally available. Check in your /proc area, you may find something like;

/proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THRM/temperature
/proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THRM/trip_points

Currenly for my laptop the temperature is;

$ cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THRM/temperature
temperature: 50 C

But that is far from my trip points;

$ cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THRM/trip_points
critical (S5): 97 C
passive: 93 C: tc1=2 tc2=3 tsp=40 devices=0xffff810037ee8a00

FYI: modern laptops are normally "hot to the touch" when running, especially by the hard drive, CPU and memory locations. Just because they are called laptops does not mean it is a good idea to sit them on your lap.
