Screen Resolution Problems

Hello all. I am running Fedora Core 2 on a Sony Vaio PCG-F610 laptop. I don't believe the monitor for this laptop is supported so I'm running the monitor as "unprobed" right now. Web browsing, however, is getting a bit annoying at 800x600. I'm very tempted to change the screen option to "Generic LCD 1024x768"

Does anybody know if this would work?

Doesn anybody know a way to recover back to my previous setting if it doesn't work?

thanks
