samsung nc10 plus JP01 netbook: OSS or alsa?

hello,
I have installed OSS on this netbook (TinyCoreLinux).
The front mic is not running (I can hear sound ).
a) what is the OSS setup for it?
b) is alsa perhaps the better option for this hardware?
