redhat linux 9 on preasrio 2100

Hello,
I am a newbie to linux world. I installed redhat linux 9 on my laptop using VESA generic driver as the support for ATI radeon U1 was not there in Xfree 4.3.
The installation went fine,i can use the linux. But the problem is the laptop become vert hot after 20 minutes of use. Is my CPU overcloaking or is it because of VESA drivers i am using.

Please help.

THanks in advance

I run Debian Sid on a presario 2100 and I have never had a problem with it over heating. I think you might look into other issues such as faulty fan or such. Does this do it with other distro's? Or have you tried? You might try that out also.
