/proc/acpi/fan is empty and the fan always work

Hi! I'm a new linux user. I've installed Suse 10.0 on my Fujitsu-Siemens M1439G and I have a problem with the fan: it always work. I have this cat results:
1)linux:/proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THRM # cat cooling_mode
<setting not supported>
2)linux:/proc/acpi/fan
empty

but acpi module seems to be load:
[...]
cpufreq_ondemand 6044 1
cpufreq_userspace 4444 0
cpufreq_powersave 1792 0
speedstep_centrino 7508 1
freq_table 4612 1 speedstep_centrino
[...]
fan 4996 1
thermal 14472 0
processor 24512 2 speedstep_centrino,thermal
[...]
and the frequency changes dinamically.

How can I configure the fan?

Thanks to all and excuse me for my bad english.
Bye

Unfortunately, Fujitsu does not appear to be very Linux friendly, and has not made the information available to the community so that the functionality can be coded (see this kernel bug).

I suggest you write to Fujitsu to express your displeasure.
