Peculiar problem in my laptop. how to solve it?

Hi Guy's,

I have installed Fedora 8 in my laptop. while working in first boot it went well. But after that when i start fedora it start in text mode and it displays "Pointer device is not configured properly" and hangs both my keyboard and touch pad is not working.

when i reboot, i saw that irqbalance service alone failed. But i used my usb mouse and started my fedora 8. it went well with out any problem.I faced this problem in ubuntu 7.10,suse 10.3,fedora7 and RHEL5 (even using the usb mouse the problem is not solved in this distro). Can anyone say what problem it would be? Is that Bios problem?

This is my system configuration:

T5500(1.66GHz),
1GB RAM,
120GB HD, 15.4in 1280x800,
128MB nVIDIA GeForce FX Go7400, CDRW/DVDRW,
Camera, TV tuner,
6c Li-Ion batt,

The irqbalance issue is discussed here: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=223045. It may solve your pointer device problem.
