PCMCIA modem problems on new install.

I just installed WinLinux 2003 on a Dell Latitude laptop, and am encountering problems with my modem. Hopefully, you guys can help me out. If you're familiar with this distro, it has a configuration utility that you can use while still in Windows (this whole distro is a hybrid, existing side-by-side with Windows). According to this utility, it detects my PCMCIA modem with no trouble, but once I actually boot into Linux, a message pops-up during the boot process which follows the PCMCIA line. It says, "No socket drivers loaded!"

On top of this, once I get into my KDE interface, and attempt to set-up my internet connection, all I get are errors telling me that no modem is detected. If I hit "Query Modem", it tells me the same thing. It just doesn't see the modem. Given that the config utility sees it, and the error produced by the boot process seems PCMCIA related, I'm guessing the PCMCIA detection is my main source of trouble. Problem is, I have no idea how to fix that. Any help you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated, as right now, I'm off the web unless I use Windows.

It turns out the modem in question, a 3Com-US Robotics 3056 PCMCIA falls under the category of a winmodem. It only works in the windows software environment. Just my luck. Oh well, I suppose I'll have to pick up a model that doesn't limit it's functionality to one particular OS.

Yep, sure did. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any linux-compatible drivers available for my model.
