PCMCIA Card problems using Fedora 6 on HP ZV5000

My PCMCIA Card worked fine using Fedora 5, but my graphics card did not. So I did an updgrade to Fedora 6 and I lost PCMCIA Card support it seems. But here is what I have tried. On FC5 there is literally a service listed for PCMCIA but not on Fedora 6, which stunned me. I have tried an 'modprobe serial_cs' and I get an error. I tried adding pci=assign-busses to /boot/grub/menu.lst with no success. Here is a C&P of the attempts:

[root@localhost ~]# modprobe serial_cs

I would appreciate any help, I am at a loss and quite new to this.

So???? Nothing surprising.........You have a new OS with a number of changes.

You have the pcmcia support, but it seems you have an issue or two with a couple of the kernel modules (8250 and serial_cs) with this 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6xen kernel, first thing to do is updated the the system if possible. It is a known fact that the kernels released with FC6 have some big issues, like the i686 kernel was really an i586 kernel which causes problems like yours. As root from the console or xterm session type;

yum update yum (very important to do this first)
yum update

This will take some time as a fair number of updates have been released since FC6 came out.

FYI: you might want to at least read the man page for the new pcmcia tools;

man pccardctl
