no sound pclinuxos 2010 dell


hi i have a dell studio 1458 laptop.i installed it on my laptop everything is fine except for the sound.can anyone help me fix it.

Terminal / konsole:
Code:
alsaconfig
to detect your soundcard, afterwards
Code:
alsamixer
to choose the card (with F6) and configure.

i tried what u said but still no sound.can u give code for intel_hda to edit in modprobe.conf

Hi!
As I wrote, "alsaconfig" should detect your soundcard - with all details.
(I don't have your hardware.) You should see something like:

HDA Intel STAC92XYZ
This is only an example!

These should help for a lot of Dell boxes.
Add this line into /etc/modprobe.conf

options snd-hda-intel model=dell

OR

options snd-hda-intel model=dell-m6

One of these lines usually work for me.
