No sleep on my Dell XPS 9500 with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

You can read what I already did on my blog post about the installation.

In short: I installed Ubuntu 20.04 LTS on my new Dell XPS 9500 in a dual boot setup on two separate internal SSD's. Linux did not want to go in sleep mode. I tried several steps as descibed in this Reddit post. It did not help but now Windows does not want to sleep either. I reversed the procedure and now I am stuck.

Does anyone knows something better to do that wait before maybe some update will fix this issue? Thanks!!

Nobody can offer much because laptops differ, and Ubuntu uses systemd. Learn to love it, because you appear to be stuck with it.

OK that is what I already feared. I hoped that because it's little brother, the XPS 9300 is mentioned in Ubuntu's hardware list, the XPS 9500 would be supported as well. I had no problems with several Thinkpads and a Chuwi Aerobook..

Well I will just have to get along.. thank for your reply.

acpid is used less & less. Systemd has suspend/hibernate code, and nearly every window manager has their power manager. I had the issue that when I hibernated, it would come back, set itself up, then hibernate again!! Then when it came back, it was ok. two of the above were hibernating on the hibernate signal.
