no hard drive found during installation

Hi,

i am having Toshiba A205-S5831 notebook. While I try to install redhat enterprise 4.0 on it, it show no hard drives have been found, so what should I do ?

I want to know which flavor of linux can I install on it.

Thanks

A quick google of that model number shows nothing unique about that machines harddrive, try the Ubuntu liveCD or knoppix.
If you are willing to pay I am sure redhat will give you specific support.

This laptop does have a SATA controller which is causing your problem. You can try the boot options:
all-generic-ide noapic nolapic

I might suggest using the latest Fedora version if you want to stay with a "Redhat" distro.
