multimedia buttons / gnome / m1210 / fc8
after installing fc8 on my dell m1210 the sound and front 7 media buttons did not work with the 2.6.23.1-42.fc8 kernel. after updating to 2.6.23.8-63.fc8 the sound and the button controls worked. after installing fluxbox, i had to reconfigure the sound to get it working again but the buttons no longer work. does anyone know how gnome uses XKeysymDB for the multimedia button controls? i know i can use xmodmap to fix this in fluxbox but would like to know what gnome uses and how it can work without any modifications or xmodmap. basically, i'm trying to find out what default files/routines gnome utilizes that allows me not to have to configure the buttons manually with xmodmap, linEAK, etc.
