I am trying to run Morphix Linux on my Compaq Notebook 100. It has an AMD K-6 processor (475 MHz) and everything loads up fine except my mouse. The pointer stays right in the center of the screen and will not move. I can get anywhere to open a console to enter any commands to attempt a re-detect or anything. Any ideas? I had the same exact issue with Mandrake Linux. Feather runs fine, mouse works and everything but I am trying to get Morphix to work due to the fact that it is visually appealling and small.

typo, right? you canT?
kill X by pressing CTRL ALT BACKSPACE at the same time. (im assumimg this distro uses X.org and not XFree86) do 'less /etc/X11/xorg.conf' scroll down to the mouse input device section and copy/paste (or i guess write and later type) that information in this thread

I am running a PS/2 wheel mouse from Microsoft. I can start up Morphix (0.4.1) and the mouse pointer is just stuck right in the center of the screen. I have tried doing F2 at startup which sends me to an advanced setup screen whereby I can select PS/2 wheelmouse instead of the default (USB mouse). Still no mouse. I tried CTRL ALT BACKSPACE which does kill X and take me to a console box. I know it is working properly (other than the mouse) because if I type in "shutdown -h 0" it shuts down.
What exactly is the command to redetect the mouse from a console? I tried the one above 'less /etc/X11/xorg.conf' and it just gives me a fatal communication error? I almost have it - just the mouse thing. By the way this distro is running KDE 3.1 also.
youll need to write down the mouse input section of the xorg.conf file. do 'cd /etc/X11/'. then 'ls'. do you have a file called 'xorg.conf' or 'xfree86.conf' or something similar? you will have one of them.. so do 'less <filename>' without the brackets.. and scroll down to the mouse input device section and write it down (it should be about 5-10 lines long). write only the lines that do not begin with #'s.
or at least tell us what it says for the 'protocol', 'device' ' and 'buttons' options
