lost wireless connection

Ok folk here's what I have got.

I am running mandrake 10 on a presario 2175 with that god forsaken 54g broadcom card. I used ndiswrapper and the windows xp drivers and got the wireless connection working. As soon as I tried to get WEP to work all hell broke loose. I read a post or two and decided to try editing the ifcfg-wlan0 and the ifup-wireless files. I found that it wasn't working with the mods I made so I deleted the changes and the files are back to how the originally were but my wireless connection is still out. Anyone got any idea what I can do besides rip out the drivers and ndiswrapper and reinstall? I am new to linux so if I need to post files or anything please tell me where I would find them.

Thanks
