I have a Compaq Armada 1580DT with Windows NT Workstation 4. I intend to install Linux on that but the problem is that I can't figure out how to boot the CD. It looks like that the BIOS is covered and/or hided some where. May some one of you have an idea how this should be done?

I'm not as good as you but I solved it by mean of floppy disk boot. My intention was to use Vector Linux but it was not a great success so I am using Slackware 9.1 and it works fine. The last item to solve is the fine tuning of he XF86Config file. I am doing that by means of KDE. Do you have some tips and tricks where to find the machines grafik card and screen type?
Screen types are pretty easyto find out, usually on the back of your monitor
As for the graphics card. Whip it out and take a look, if your lucky it is nvidia as theyhave one generic driver. Have fun
