Laptop Upgrade

Still looking to upgrade my laptop. The most recent one on my radar is a Toshiba Satelite. According to Windows it has a RTL8188 Wireless Card. Does anyone know if that will give me any problems? I would probably be installing Fedora.

Thanks in advance, TH

Hi,

The best/better way is to spin a live CD on that thing and see what happens. Of course, you could gloss over the HCL too...

Ehm...I'm confused...a live CD does not affect the hard drive...it's safe to try. I use that all the time for systems that dont boot up...

The laptop is still in the store, most sellers don't allow this.

Kind regards

I know this is an old thread. I have a Toshiba Satellite and it has the RTL8188CE Wifi adaptor and it works fine. Drivers installed automatically and everything. Since Fedora 14. I'm on Fedora 16 now.
