Known problem with installation of some distributions on Toshiba G20

Hi all!

fore some reason i have to install Fedora 9 on my notebook.

unfortunatlly, i have the problem, because fedora installation can not recognize my hdd's.

can you tell help me which hard disk device driver to use? how to find out that?

also, just to mention that i can successful install gentoo. but with fedora (and also ubuntu) i can not, cause same problem:

no valid devices were found on which to create new file systems. please check your hardware for the cause of this problem.

again: it _have_to_be_ be fedora, not gentoo.

thank you very very very much in advance!!!
