Usually, that kind of functionality is supplied by an app running on the device. Have you tried mounting it with Samba running on your Linux box, as a network device?

can you post the output of 'lsmod' and 'lspci' as well to see what USB controllers your motherboard has and that the appropriate drivers for them are loaded. if you boot the computer with the device plugged in do you get the same functionality?

can you 'modprobe usbcore' and also check dmesg after running this command, after booting up (with the device plugged in) and check 'dmesg | tail' after removing then plugging in the device again. the lsusb command you posted suggest that the device is now being seen, hopefully in the output of dmesg somewhere it will list the usb device file it is using then you can use that to mount it.

Unfortunately devices based on windows CE or mobile are not seen as mass storage devices.

A far as i'm aware you have two choices.

1) If the storage is a type memory card that can be removed from the device you can then use a adaptor to plug it in to your system.

2) You can look at this http://www.synce.org. It is the equivalent to active sync. Which is the program that is used on MS Windows to see these devices.

I run into the same problem with my iPaq 1940, even with synce.

For now I'm trying to install Linux onto my iPaq, without success for now (I've change my SD card for a Kingston one and need some spare time to try).

If you're interested in this option you can visit handhelds.org.

Hope this help you with your device.

Regards. blackraider.
