I have a old laptop that is designed for windows 95 and It doesnt boot up from cds and when I switch it to boot up from cds nothing happens what am I doing wrong or can I even install SuSe Linux 10.1
When you say switch to boot from CD, do you mean you changed the boot order in the BIOS? That's the first thing to do. Can you run other bootable cd's in the laptop?
SuSE 10.1 is for more modern computers, they recommened at least 256 MB Ram. I've got it running on a 128 MB Machine, it's a little slow but runs okay. You might try a distro more suited for older computers, I hear Xubuntu runs good on older machines but haven't tried it myself yet.
try reburning the CD(s), and trying other bootable CD's in the drive to see if anything happens, and if it can boot from other CD's at all. Also, if possible, try the boot CD's in another computer to see if you can boot from them.
Well help to see if the problem is in your laptop or not, might be the cd's themselves.
