HP DM4 Dualboot issue

Hi, I just installed Linux Mint Cinnamon on my HP DM4 laptop. Mint has always worked well on there though I have mostly used live discs. I installed and rebooted and it only boots Windows. I cannot find a way to redo the bootloader without starting again with the disc, any ideas? If I use the disc and reinstall, can I do anything different to ensure I get a boot option? (besides wiping W7)

The HDD already has one partition as an HP backup, one for the W7 install and the remainder for Mint.

That would indicate that you did not install the Mint Grub bootloader to the master boot record. If you do not want to do that, you will need to set up the windows bootloader and edit its files to enable booting Mint. You may be able to do that by downloading EasyBCD on windows and using it to boot Mint. Read the instructions before starting:

http://neosmart.net/EasyBCD/

Another option is to boot the Mint CD and install the Grub bootloader to the master boot record. When you are able to boot Mint you will need to run: sudo update-grub to add windows to the menu. How to do that is at the link below for Ubuntu. Works the same with Mint, the section 'via the LiveCD terminal'.
