That would indicate that you did not install the Mint Grub bootloader to the master boot record. If you do not want to do that, you will need to set up the windows bootloader and edit its files to enable booting Mint. You may be able to do that by downloading EasyBCD on windows and using it to boot Mint. Read the instructions before starting:

Another option is to boot the Mint CD and install the Grub bootloader to the master boot record. When you are able to boot Mint you will need to run: sudo update-grub to add windows to the menu. How to do that is at the link below for Ubuntu. Works the same with Mint, the section 'via the LiveCD terminal'.
