Question EeePC 1025CE - Screen stays turned on after shutdown

I have recently replaced my laptop screen. The problem is that the screen stays on even after the system shuts down or goes to sleep: the screen simply goes white and the backlight stays on.

I'm running Fedora 18 on an Asus EecPC 1025CE (Intel Atom N2800).

Wasn't sure whether to post this in the laptop or hardware subforum, so here's some more info on my system:

/sbin/lspci

Here's some of my message logs from when the system goes to sleep :

The uPower message towards the end makes me think the problem might come from power managment configuration. But I might be on the wrong track. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated!
