ecs desknote problem

hai,
i'm using ecs desknote A907, anyone know how to change lcd resolution to 1024 x 768 ? the vga adapter is SIS 305 , 16 MB ram of VGA,

and i have no sound , but the hardware detected ALI M1535+

Under /etc/X11/XF86Config or, possibly its XF86Config-4, at the bottom of the file is the resolutions setting, setting it for something like:

As for the soundcard, what's the output of /sbin/lspci, and... what modules do you have listed under /sbin/lsmod?
