Display freezes installing on Averatec, how to get around?
I am installing Fedora 9 on an Averatec 3280, which is notorious for having display problems with Linux.
I am able to do a text-mode install which works but then the system boots to a text prompt.
I am able to install XWindows up to a point where the system fails to refresh the display, or respond to mouse or keyboard input. On earlier versions of Linux I had to fiddle with xorg.conf settings to get the screen sized properly.
But now I am stuck. So I want to know how I can put my hand into the install process to fix the screen and mouse params before the system freezes. I assume I would be editing xorg.conf at some point.
But I am not sure what to do.
