Unhappy Debian MBR not working on MacBook Pro 4,1

Hi Everyone,

I just burned a copy of (net-install) Debian on a CD, and installed it on my MacBook Pro 4,1. When it have me the option, I selected to use the entire disk. Then, it asked me if I wanted to install the GRUB boot loader, and format as MBR, and I selected yes. When the installation finished, and I rebooted, it took about 30 seconds until the computer flashed a folder with a "?" icon. I rebooted again, holding down the option key, and nothing appeared; just my mouse and a disk if I inserted it. Is it possible to take another live CD of ubuntu or something and use gparted to reformat? (Last time I used gparted I saw no "MBR" option) Or is it a MacBook problem that I am not attending to? Thank you SO much!

Have you changed the disk type from GPT to MBR before installing Debian?
