Do you have some legitimate copy of Windows CE to install on the device? That would be the first step.

Beyond that, the installation of Windows CE is not really something we are likely to be able to help you with on a Linux forum.

The problem is I don't have a clue how to install windows ce onto it; not even sure if it's possible. I'm use to using windows mobile on my ipaq, bought the ubisurfer recently on ebay and discovered it was linux (not windows os) and been trying to find a way to change it ever since, as all my software from my ipaq works with windows mobile. Can't find anything on Google about changing the os on a ubisurfer.

Unless the maker of the device offers a CD or image just for that device, I doubt you can with any ease.

Windows CE and the embedded versions are usually quite specific to a device. MS usually offers the latest developer tools and limited time images so you'd have to start there. Usually they come with a sort of virtual machine that lets you use a x86 computer to create the target device image.
