Bluetooth And Suse ?


Hello ...

first of all sorry for my bad English

i installed SuSE 10.0 in Acer TravelMater C110 laptop , my question how i can check if SuSE detect Bluetooth in the laptop or not ?

in the last step of setup it's show for me it's know the Bluetooth device , but now i can't use Bluetooth , i try to search devices it's don't show any connect device and kbluetooth don't work becuase the mobile can't found the computer as connect device .

Your english wasn't too bad however I'm not certain what you want. What do you want to actually do with Bluetooth, copy files to and from your phone? Use your phone as a modem to connect to the internet? Do something with some other device?

It might be easier if you tell me your goal and I can help you from there. If Kbluetooth is letting your search for devices then I'm guessing it's detected your device but just to be sure, type this into a terminal:
Code:
hcitool dev
It'll list the address of any local devices in recognises

Hello ...

thank you very much Mr.cs-cam

Well , i want use Bluetooth as modem to connect to the internet (connect to the mobile first and from mobile will connect to the internet)

second i want use it to send and resive files from others mobile

finally the result of "hcitool dev" is "Devices :" no anything else

Hrmm that's bad. I just hit up Google and according to this page the Bluetooth in your laptop isn't supported in linux yet

Unlucky i tried to conversion my brother from Windows to Linux .

Glad to help, you can pick up cheap USB adapters that work fine. I know it kind of defeats the purpose have having it built-in but if you really want to try it that's something to look at. If you make sure to buy a name brand one rather than generic you can be very sure it'll work.
